Goodbye my friend. We've been together a long time, on and off. I know you weren't around when I was pregnant and I didn't miss you at all and now it's time to say goodbye forever. I don't want my little DS growing up thinking it's okay to abuse your body with cigarettes and he's becoming more aware every day of what Mummy is doing out on the patio when he's not allowed out there.
I'm replacing you with a new friend for a while and then hopefully i'll never need either of you again.
I know you've been a true friend to me, not a fairweather friend like some of the other stuff in my life and I appreciate that, but now it's time to move on.
Wish me luck, i'm going to need it.
Edit: It's been nearly 7 hours since I had my last ciggie, i'm already doing it tough and i'm itching to go outside. Don't worry, I won't, I don't have any ciggies anyway and i'm not buying any. I can't put a patch on til tomorrow as you're supposed to wait a day after stopping smoking before you start using the patches. I'll be using them from tomorrow. Just have to get through the next couple of hours and then go to bed early.

good luck Bri! don't give into them, you're so right about your little one being aware!
love the pink on you ...
:-)
OMG you are amazing and so good. GOOD FOR YOU. A big decision, and what a fantastic time to make it. Turning 40 smoke free. You didn't ask for tips but I am an expert and feel obliged to share my advice. Before I share my advice I will convince you of my qualifications of 'expert' status... I quite about 67 millions times! See an expert! LMAO
Seriously, I smoked heavily from 17 - 35. When I finally quit this is what worked for me.
1. Instead of saying 'no thanks I'm trying to quit', I would say 'no thanks, I don't smoke'. Mentally this is powerful.
2. I quit on holiday in a different environment for a week. It really helped because alot of the normal triggers were not there for the first week.
3. I told myself that if I did have one, or 5 or a packet, that I would not call myself a failure and use that as an excuse to be a smoked again. Instead I would call it temporary lapse, put it behind me and keep on being a non-smoker.
It worked and I have been smoke free for over 5 years now. I am SO glad I do not smoke.
PS Your son is so important, you are such a good mum, and such a good role model for him. He is one hell of a lucky little guy!
Good luck.
Btw I tried to comment on your earlier post and couldn't... hope this works. Love the pink wigs :)
Good going hon and yes, GOOD LUCK!! Soon enough you won't be able to smoke anywhere anyway.
Good luck Bri. I love the pink wigs - sounds like a great night.
OMG good on you for giving up the ciggies. All the best with it and please don't replace them with food. You might want to take up a hobbie or something to keep your hands busy.
Good luck... I know you can do it!!
Good Luck. It is fantastic that you have given up. WELL DONE!!
Oooooh, good girl!!! And good luck! You will be a much stronger person when you achieve this, and much healthier for your son :-)
PS. I know what will keep your hands busy for a little (long) while - make a freaken knitted animal!!! Or better yet, a whole ark!
