I have to go to a conference next Monday and Tuesday in Sydney. I've decided that i'll get accommodation for the Sunday as well as the Monday, I really think a couple of child/husband free nights will do me the world of good as i'm feeling a bit like i'm stuck in quicksand at the moment. I might even take myself down early on Sunday and have a quiet afternoon by myself. OMG - how devine!!
If I keep up my exercise between now and then I will shout myself a nice dinner! Not sure about eating by myself but I guess I can take a book and look like a sad lonely bastard. Little will onlookers know it will probably be the best night of my life!!

Oh yes Bri, go early. If you can take a walk along Sydney harbour, see the brideg, watch the ferry's chuff past the Opera house, breathe in the Sydney air in the most beautiful harbour in the world. I used to work in Sydney every coupld eof weeks and I just loved walking by the harbour at all different times of the day, especially as the sun goes down or really late night. Just love it. I also like walking along Darling Harbour, stopping for coffee. Don't feel strange eating alone. Firstly, sitting on your hotel room bed, after a luxurious shower or bath, with the TV on, and and with room service on your lap really has its merits. Especially if you order wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce LOL! If you do decide to go out, just take a magazine or something to read. There are HEAPS of people aroudn in Cities on business who eat on their own. Alot travel frequently and get a bit bored with hotel room dinners, and they feel quite normal eating out alone. Indulge Bri, and enjoy yourself. Call it a pre-birthday splurge :)
Hey, it's Sydney...lots of people eat by themselves and I never think their losers! If you want to meet up for dinner and have time, let me know. M and Cath might be up for it too but I totally understand if you just want some "you" time :-) Where are you staying?
Some 'you' time!!! I would love that:)
Hope you have a great time:)
i would LOVE one night with no kids.. just to be able to wake at your own speed.. not being jumped on before 6am each morning...
Truth be known.. would miss it!
I like suzies comments...
If this week becomes hard.. just keep thinking.. sunday night.. sunday night..
It sounds brilliant. We should all have some 'me' time. xx
Who cares what onlookers think? And anyway they'll prolly be thinking who's that hot, mysterious woman dining on her own.
Bri that sounds devine. Wish I could join you. Go for it and go early Sunday, you will love it and come back feeling better for it.
OOo ooo ooo!!! Go to the Moroccan restaurant in Darling Harbour. It's sort of opposite the big boat restaurant. It is sooooooooooo yummy!! I can't wait til I'm in Sydney in November I'll be going for sure.
Child free time....what's that?
Hope you have a great relaxing, renewing time away. I think you deserve the nice dinner anyway, you've been good - and the size 12's will still fit with just one little splurge! Go for it!
Bugger the onlookers, we all find our peace differently, don't we? Taking as long as we like over a lovely meal would just be DE-VINE!
