One night

DH and I are having a night away. Yikes, i'm a bit scared!!

We're dropping DS at my MIL's and going to Port Macquarie for tomorrow night. I'm not sure if this is a good thing, or a bad thing. I have tomorrow off as I have to take DS to the doctor's in the morning. DH was trying to get Sunday off as well and we were going to go to Canberra to surprise my sister, but we can't do it, they just won't give him the day off. It's hard to do anything when your husband has to work every weekend, we never get time away, in fact we rarely see each other at all, and I should be happy that we're getting one night away together, but .....

I had to change my dentist's appointment.
I won't be able to weigh in at Weight Watchers.
I'll miss my little DS.
Who will feed the goldfish?
The house is a pig-sty and I should be home cleaning up.
I need to do the groceries.

I think i'm worrying uneccesarily about trivial things that don't matter cos i'm scared about spending a night alone with my husband!!

Yes you are worrying unnecessarily. Go and enjoy yourself, its probably what you both need, sometime together alone. Make the most of it. Everything at home will be ok. Have a great time and stop worrying.

Just to put it in perspective, see all those things you listed? Excuses. We are so good at making them for food, exercise, anything. Just go have some fun! It's only one night and I want to hear that you had a damn good sleep or if not, I'm sure there'll be a good reason ;-) I think you deserve a night off.

Oh sweetheart, you will be fine! It will be good for the two of you to get away and just talk about things and spend some time together.

All that other stuff can wait - except maybe DS, but he will be fine too!
