So I went back to the dentist this morning, this is my third appointment. When I went last time she wouldn't do anything because I was so distressed and she said it would be better if I came back and saw another dentist who could give me gas to calm me down. She also had said I needed root canal therapy and that's pretty major so, I figured I WOULD need the gas!
The dentist today was really nice (it was a man) but he said he's not willing to do root canal therapy now. He's 70% sure that the nerve in my tooth is dying and that's why i'm occasionally getting pain there. There's also a HUGE filling in there that I had done probably 20 years ago and it's very close to the nerve. I probably will have to have the nerve removed eventually but he wants to wait until i'm actually having the pain so that he can check that it's what needs to be done, otherwise it will be root canal therapy that I need.
I guess i'm happy because I escaped again, but i'm still in limbo and something will have to be done eventually. In the meantime though, i'll just hope the pain never comes back and then i'll be okay!! hahaha - wishful thinking. I know, i'm such a whimp and Yes, I did wiggle my toes (can't remember who suggested that, and it did work a little to take my mind off what was happening).
On a worse note, I went to weigh in this morning and registered a GAIN of 2.1kg. Oops - I haven't been tracking, planning or eating well so I know exactly why it happened.
If i'm going to be a goal by my birthday (probably impossible now but i'll try) I really have to pull my finger out.
Here's hoping I have a better week next week.

I'm glad the toe wiggling worked a bit (that was me). I just try and remember that tooth pain is worse than any pain the dentist may inflict.
I'm sure the weight gain will disappear just as quick with a week of tracking and exercise.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Oops! I gained this week too - I bet it was that dinner on Saturday night. They put something in our food!
Hey wiggling toes, I'll remember that. Good for you - you went and you survived it, plus now you know a couple of nice dentists and one that gives gas to help. hat makes a difference huh? My weightloss has been...bad lately. So you have company :) DOn;t worry, you are nearly so skinny we'll need a magnifying glass to find you soon anyway (compared to me anyway!)LOL
Yikes, the dentist never has good news no matter which way he puts it and you know what you gotta do now. Tracking definitely helps see the how and whys. Good going for recoginising and being honest with yourself! I hope you have a good week :-)
Sorry to hear about your gain. You can be at goal for your birthday, just focus, track, exercise and track some more. You can do this. Just do it.
I also appreciate your distress over the dentist. I recently had a crown done on one of my back molers and was in so much pain that they had to give me 4 needles before they could do it. During me getting the crown, my dentist casually mentioned that if the pain keeps up, I might have to have root cannal therapy on it as well. Well I don't think so, I told her, just take the tooth out. Its a back moler so I don't care if its there or not. No one is going to see its missing.
I got a reminder notice from my dentist last week for me to go back for a check up. Not looking forward to that.
Hope things improve for you and have a great week.
