More good stuff

So yesterday I was thinking I could do with a couple of new tops, but we all know that I have a shopping phobia, mostly cos I can never find stuff that fits or that looks any good on me and I just end up going home all depressed and cranky and feeling ugly, fat and unloved.

We hadn't done any washing all week and I had nothing to wear so I thought, bugger it - i'm going shopping - I can kick this phobia's butt, just be positive right?

I tried on a pair of size 14 jeans that were too big, and NO I wasn't in 1626!! haha. I can't shop there anymore, everything is too big for me. It's sad cos they have such stylish stuff and I love their clothes, now I have to go back to 'normal' shops and go through the whole change room phobia thing I have aswell. I hate it when you hear some idiot 20 year old calling out "the size 10 is too big Mum - can you get me an 8"!! blah - go eat a pizza pixie girl!!

It turned out okay. I bought a couple of tops, some new sunnies and an exercise outfit. The tops are size 14 - that's okay, cos I normally buy 16's (its a booby thing!!) and size 12 exercise pants - yay me!

Michelle is setting up a six week exercise challenge for the pair of us. It's just under six weeks til the pre City to Surf Bloggers Dinner. I really really really want to be a 60's girl by then. Do you think I can do it? If I try really hard, do my exercise, stop my DH from bringing home pods and drink lots of water, I reckon I can get pretty darned close. It would be great to be looking good to meet some of my blogger friends, I will feel much more confident. It's so hard to feel confident when you're overweight and sober! haha

Wish me luck.

Six weeks to the C2S. Yikes, I need to do some serious training.

Of course you can do it but just remember, if something happens and you don't, we'll all just be so happy to meet you that we aren't going to care how much you weigh :)

First one to comment, first one to wish you luck Bri. Keep focussing on that dinner and the feeling of those new clothes in size 14 and 12 and you will achieve your goal of a 60's girl!!
Let me tell you that any clothes shopping phobia will go when you can consistently fit into lovely stuff. It becomes addictive ;-)
Don't let those "pods" stuff you up. I know it's frustrating when your DH is bringing that type of thing home but you have to learn to say no most of the time. It's hard but as Lachie get's older you will be faced with lot's more temptations around the house so it's a really good time to sort it out now. I learned that the hard way!! I also get disappointed with my DH that he's not sticking to the "diet" but I know he will only do it when he REALLY wants to just like we do.
Have a great week!!!
Oops long comment - hopefully when I press the publish button, I will still be the first.

I wanna go to the bloggers dinner!! Guess its a bit unrealistic though, so will settle for a 60's Bri telling me all about it the next day!!

Well done on 12's & 14's - you REALLY WILL start to love shopping soon enough - its great fun!!!!!!!

Good girl! That's great that you've committed yourself to an exercise program and I know Michelle will keep you honest! I'll have to find out all the details and see if it's something I can do too (not the C2S, the program) and if so, we'll be in it together! Yay on the clothes too - that's awesome work. What a legend you are!

Congratulations on the pain-free shopping trip! It must feel really great to walk past 1626 even if you do like the clothes... to know there's nothing for you in there! The opposite of what it feels like walking past Sportsgirl knowing nothing in there is for you... I can't wait for that day to come. Congrats on everything you've acheived.

Hey I have never heard of 1626 - is there one in the south east melb suburbs, or in the city?

and hell yeah - you be a 60's girl Bri. Its in yuor control. Yuo can do it. Imagine how you will feel when you run that fun run as a 60's girl? OMG so cool! But it won;t be easy to get there. How badly do you want to be a 60's girl by then. What do you have to do to achieve that? what do you have to avoid to get there. and last but not least...how committed are you to getting there? YOU CAN DO THIS!

The shopping bit gets better! I hated shopping too but it's so cool to be able to walk into ANY shop now. Well done Bri :-)
